Mindfulness is the conscious act of being fully present. It can be learned over a short series of classes with benefits that apply to every endeavor: academics, athletics, music, art, or personal relationships. In concentration we are able to limit the noise and distractions of the outside world and, as a result, we are calmer, less reactive, and more centered. The goal is to reach this state of active awareness quickly and easily, so that we can approach our daily tasks in more focused and creative ways.
